British New Testament Conference at St Mary’s in 2018

Put the date in your diaries! The British New Testament Conference will be meeting at St Mary’s University, Twickenham on Thursday 6 to Saturday 8 September 2018. This excellent annual gathering of established scholars and research students meets each year and moves around the universities, so we are delighted that the British New Testament Society committee have accepted the invitation from our Centre for the Social-Scientific Study of the Bible to come to St Mary’s.

Engaging with Poverty in the Early Church and Today—report

Well, two excellent days of conference are over and we’ve heard some 15 papers and two short reflections on the whole conference, as well as engaging in eight half-hour question and discussion times. It’s been very stimulating with fine talks, passion and a sense of the importance of the issues we’ve discussed. I’m very pleased that we at St Mary’s University, Twickenham have support from several agencies for our conference ‘Engaging with Poverty in the Early Church and Today’ which takes place over Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December.
