Bursaries for postgraduate students from the developing world for the St Mary’s poverty conference
Postgraduate Student Bursaries for CSSSB’s “Engaging with Poverty in the Early Church and Today”, 4–5 December 2015
The Centre for the Social-Scientific Study of the Bible at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, in cooperation with the Bible Society, invites applications for two bursaries, which will cover all expenses (travel, hotel, food, registration) for postgraduate students to attend the “Engaging with Poverty in the Early Church and Today.” These funds are aimed especially for those students who may otherwise not be able to afford the costs of attendance and preference will be given to students from developing countries, though all applications will be considered. To apply, students should send an application letter, CV, and reference to Professor Steve Walton at steve [dot] walton [at] stmarys [dot] ac [dot] uk. Their application letter should be no more than three pages and should address at least the following: (1) their current institution; (2) their current course of study; and (3) how the topic of the conference is related to their postgraduate studies.
Applications are due by November 15, 2015. Please direct any enquiries to Prof Steve Walton (steve [dot] walton [at] stmarys [dot] ac [dot] uk) or Prof Chris Keith (chris [dot] keith [at] stmarys [dot] ac [dot] uk) at CSSSB.
Please note that the successful applications are responsible for securing travel visas if they are necessary.
More details of the conference, which will be stonkingly good, are here and here. And there are still places available for those without bursaries—£50 for students, people on benefits, and senior citizens; £75 for others. There’s a registration link on the webpage.
