Reading the Bible personally—live link and slides

This Tuesday (17 February) I’m leading the third of my how to read the Bible well seminars for Holy Trinity Church, Cambridge on why and how to have a good personal Bible study. Slides and links from the previous two are here and here. The slides for this seminar are here, and you can connect here to the live stream of it from 7.45 pm UK time (start at 8 pm) tomorrow, Tuesday 17 February.

During questions I was asked about resources to help those without the biblical languages (or with limited memory of learning biblical languages), and recommended the STEP Bible online and William D. Mounce, ed. Mounce’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (Zondervan, 2006). I also warned not to use Vine’s Expository Dictionary—it’s very out of date with present knowledge, and has a large number of errors or misleading statements.

Thoughts, questions and comments are most welcome!
